Today was day 1 at the reliant Arena. I thought there was going to be a bad element there. Where I could trust no one. The people there were nicer than some people that live here. I was surprised when I saw kids with smiles on there faces just because of the free little teddy bear. When they have nothing else to play with. Most of my job is listening to peoples story's. Which was in some cases was difficult to do. I hope them having someone listening to there story makes there day a little better. The smallest thing could change these people's life's.
Day 2
I arrived at Reliant Center today at about 9 am. After I signed in with the company I am working with they sent us to the Astrodome for family reunification. On the way to the entrance I was expecting the usual pat down. When we got to the entrance the security told there were not letting anyone in without a volunteer armband. We then had to turn around and walk back to where we originally signed in and stand in line for said armband. It took us the better part of an hour to get the band and get into the dome. After finally getting to our designated work area it was my neighbor who had to train me because we were so short handed on account of the lock down. While we were working there was a rumor the President Bush was going to visit. While getting up to get some fresh air I noticed a lot of military personal around. I asked on of the soldiers why the Dome was one lockdown but he would not give me a straight answer.
I am Eaker and TheMom's son and am working with the relief effort here in Houston.
If you want on or off of this ping list please let me know.
Add me please.
One time only ping to my son's work in Houston.
Please add me to your ping list.
Are you Eaker or Eaker's child? I don't get it.
Add me, please.
Ah, Eaker's son.
Good on 'Ya.
"We then had to turn around and walk back to where we originally signed in and stand in line for said armband. It took us the better part of an hour to get the band and get into the dome."
All the red tape and standing in line would make me head for the door. I have a very low tolerance for this sort of thing. I can barely handle a trip by plane these days, due to all the lines and ID checks.
One time big Texas ping.
Add me to your ping list please and thank you.
Please ping me. Thanks for your efforts to help.
Who asked you to take Dix off your ping list?
No one I know, I hope.
No problem assistant to the mouse murder.
I am Sam the second.
If I'm on the list, excellent!
If I'm not on the list, please include me in!
You rock. (Must get that from your mom.)
Thanks for the work you are doing, Please add me to your pinglist.
You are in my prayers. I will be headed your way bright and early tomm.
I just want to thank you for the wonderful work you are doing with those poor displaced people down in Houston. I am so proud of my fellow Texans--and you're way up on the list!--who have taken charge and gotten things done. What a wonderful son you are! Your parents should--and no doubt are--very proud of you!
Spawn-O is one of Eaker's kids.
Dang fine young man but really how many Eakers do we need on the internet?
O, Discordia!
