Diaz also said that they failed to speak up for Miguel Estrada and that they would never be silent again...I think it's a Catholic thing for Hispanics.

Excellent article. 150 Hispanics from New York traveling all the way to Washington DC to demonstrate in favor of a conservative Republican nominee for Supreme Court is of extreme significance.

This was a true grassroots uprising based on strongly held personal views, not a professionally organized economic special interest group.

This is evidence that conservative Hispanics all over the country are probably coming to the same conclusions and turning to the Republican party.

This type thing snowballs.

Zell Miller is also a Democrat.

The Republican party is slowly being taken over by RINOs, who used to be Democrats.
The RINOs left the Democrat party because "they" were being taken over by insane liberals socialists.
As a former Republican, I am still trying to find a viable alternative myself, with the current crop of professional politicians claiming to be Republican but embracing socialism lite.

Frankly, I am pleased whenever a politician of either party pretends to remember that they are merely temporarily elected government officials, willing public servants, and not annointed public masters.

Dem politcs in NYC is Byzantine at best, and in the Bronx, very bizarre..it's all very ethnic, and the Hispanics are now attemtign to push the black politicians out of thier power bases...Another example..in the Dem primary next week, for the office of Manhattan borough president..a totally useless job..there are ELEVEN Dems running for the job in the primary, and their is no provision for a runoff..so, someone could win with 15% of the vote...

I second your sentiment. The snide comments here are about as meaningless and obtues as a Pelosi statement. This man and the 150 other pastors/leaders represent hundreds, possibly thousands, of NY votes. They are making it known that they have had it with Chuckie and his lambasting conservative judges. They also said (on Fox) they were silent on the way Estrada was treated, but they will not be silent again.

It may not be a very big shot, but it IS a shot across the bow of Chuckie's boat. I'm glad it got media coverage--just wish CNN et al could be honest enough to publicize it.

Not my title :( I thought this was good but somehow this article isn't getting positive response.

I think it's a nice gesture, and I think he's going to be important in getting those in his district to vote Republican in the next elections. :o)

For what it's worth, I think it's a good thing when people speak up for a good cause. The USA will be better off when (or if) Democrats decide to compete on the bases of performance and integrity rather than complaining and obstruction. Small steps in the right direction should be met with encouragement.

Can't you just take the statement for what it is:

I did. It's worthless. When the Rev. replaces Clinton or Schumer we can start talking abound framing the debate in the meantime get real.

Diaz is a DINO who usually supports Republicans. He's one of the few politicians in NYC who stands up for Christian values.
