Why wasn't Dr. Dean down in NOLA assisting the relief effort like Frist?

A refugee is someone who moves elsewhere to seek refuge.
Why is refugee a bad word?
Do we have to euphamize that away like all the other plain words of the based ...
A 'temporarily-housed American'?

Bill Frist and Howard Dean are both doctors.
Frist goes to Lois Armstrong airport and administers first aid.
Dean race bates and squeals like a stuck pig.
The differences between a politician and a politician who is also a leader couldn't be more clear.

He's right: those people were living in a dangerous area without the resources to drive out or the gumption to walk, left waiting for the government to save them, because the Democratic Party that's run Louisiana since the stone age has targeted blacks, keeping them on the welfare plantation in exchange for their votes. They were left with no help and no idea of how to help themselves thanks to the lousy public schools, endless handouts and other life-destroying aspects of the welfare state created by liberals, who constantly preach that black Americans cannot possibly survive without it. So yes, race was indeed a factor.
Is that what you meant, Howard

All one has to do is look at Dean's Vermont--It's obvious race played a part there when he was the governor. There are 3 times as many blacks in my small town as there are in his entire state.
Maybe I missed it but I haven't seen the Vermont welcome wagon showing up in Houston or elsewhere offering 'poor folk' a ride and a life back in Vermont. Of course not too many spare rooms in Martha's Vineyard are being offered up to these folks either.

Dean comes from a state that basically has no minorities and he had few if any working on his presidential campaign. The only minorities Howard Dean knew when growing up were the servants. Howard Dean, champion of the poor minorities. Yea, sure.
Speaking of taxes and whatnot Howard, if you had any sense you'd see that minorities have been jacked by people like you that support a RACIST income tax. Do away with the current tax system and allow everyone, especially minorities, to start and own their own businesses without having to deal with your crappy tax system. A system you have used to keep the minorities poor.
Oh, by the way Howard, you have beady little weasel eyes that are too close together. Based on that and the garbage you spew you are not the brightest bulb around.

Dean: Race Played a Role in Katrina DeathsWell, that is what people are saying about Blanco denying food, water and sanitary needs to be brought in by the Red Cross. So, maybe Dean has a point for once.

The Our VOTE Training Manual, provides a much needed resource to African American Church leaders. The Black Church has historically been involved in social justice efforts that move us towards the liberation of our people. The prophetic voice of the Civil Rights Movement used the power of our voice to bring about social change that brought about the Right to Vote. As a people we can not afford to rely on others to speak on our behalf. The future of our communities and the future of the church are at stake.
At a time when far too many of our elected officials are not receptive or responsive to the needs of those who elect them to serve, it is imperative that we use Our V. O. T. E. to prepare our present and future voters for what lies ahead. That is, the usage of this manual will lead to an informed, involved, and impressive electorate community.

"We don't have a political agenda, we have a faith agenda," Thurston said. "The Bible says faith without works is dead. We preach about it. Teach about it. It's nothing new."
Still, clergy did not hesitate to criticize the Bush administration from the pulpit.
"After 50 years of struggle, we face a nation and a world where the gains of African-Americans have been eroded by an uncompassionate leadership under the guise of compassionate conservatism," Jemison said. "Money that could be used to alleviate poverty, lift up suffering and make a difference in the lives of others has been used in a war that is immoral and threatens the lives of our boys and girls."
"We can be out of slavery, out of segregation, have the right to vote, but still starve to death unless you get to the fourth stage, access to capital, industry and technology," he said. "That's what the four conventions reconnecting is about."

"We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not," Dean said
Frankly I agree with Howard Dean, The poor inner city blacks have been the victims of 40 years of Great society welfare subsistence. Many of the Blacks we saw herded into the superdome and the convention center were without a doubt second, third and fourth generation defacto wards of the state. The responsibility for their inability to even think for themselves lays squarely at the feet of the Governors party. Any black American who sees the videos of what happened in NO should realize that their people have been devastated by the programs and policy's of the left for 40 years. Slavery was a travesty the shame of which must be born by all Americans in a historical context (Please don't start with the reparations BS). But the crippling effects of the welfare state must be born by the left alone. Slavery was evidence of a callousness towards other Human Beings brought on by greed, lust for profit. The welfare state was brought on by greed, lust for unlimited and unending power. Someday and may it be soon the welfare state should be looked upon as the evil equal of slavery and it should also be banished to the history books with a huge asterisk beside of it for shame.
