I hope like all get out that you're right. But you have to remember that this is a conservative forum, and that most of us who post here, understand all to well what you are saying. I'm not worried about any of us supporting her .

Unfortunately, there are multitudes among us out there, who will give ear to a politician when they say something that resonates with them in an emotional way. As a matter of fact , the Dems are desperately seeking that certain something right now, so as to gain the main stream of voters support.

I know many who have voted republican for reasons of main stream American issues, but if some Rat makes them a promise on something that they care about deeply enough, they would likely support him or her. In fact, I know many people who vote Republican, who think that we do need to raise taxes, because of the War on Terror! SO in light of Katrina, this may seem perfectly logical to them as well.

Remember, emotions often times trumps common sense or critical reasoning, and I am afraid there are more gullible voters than we realize. And that is the reason I find it so difficult to relax.

Your going about this tax hike business all wrong. If you want to get credit for your humanitarian effort to institute a tax hike on behalf of the victims of Katrina you should use my formula. Every project I am a part of has my name in big letters all over it during the development and execution phases and even bigger letters at completion.

Basic budgeting says if you ain't got it, don't spend it....so.... why are we increasing senators and US reps and presidents pay?
