Absolutely. The mayor now wants someone else to do their dirty work for him. Get his own police force out there to enforce the order! Let THEM appear in pictures broadcast around the world forcibly dragging people from their homes!
Not that there is a NO police force in NO any more.

He is an ass. Good for the military. I wondered if they would have to obey this absurd order. For which, what IS the point? It's a day late and a dollar short. OK, 20 days late and $1B short.

I'm not so sure I agree with the military on this one. Yes -- on principle they are correct. But refusing to evict people from their homes while at the same time ensuring that they are provided food and water may not be doing anyone a favor.
It's one thing if someone needs to be rescued and/or needs temporary arrangements for food and shelter. But using the U.S. military to replace the local grocery store on a long-term basis is a bad idea.

Nagin is still giving orders down there?? I thought he ceded his authority last week.
To: Naomi4
Good for the President! That's why HE wanted control over the military - so idiots like Nagin could not order them to do stupid stuff.

The army engineers should have used Nagin and Blanco to plug the levee. And then they could have lined up Reid, Pelosi Boxer, Fat Teddy etc... and used all their hot air to blow the water out of the basin and dry it out. Why didn't they think of that?
