The main reason for forcing the residents out is that (a) there is no potable (clean) water -- and there won't be for at LEAST six months. There are no sources of food (grocery stores, etc.), and won't be for 4-6 months.
There already is water up and running and grocery stores open. All services wil be restored in just a short time. You watch and see.Americans bounce back fast.

I wouldn't take orders from Nagin either if I'm a competant heroic operation like the U.S. military.

Doubtful Landrieu will ever be Governor either. Despite the fact that her father is Lt. Governor.

I heard today that the e.coli count is 450,000 times higher than "max safe" level in N.O.

Same thing hilary wanted to do with the air around the WTC.
My suspicion is that they are setting up for lawsuits against the government for their ailments.
I know that's what her heinous had in mind. Demanding money for future ailments.
NY is sending lawyers to the affected areas to make sure victims rights are protected.

That was the reading on Nagin's lips.

No, there's not "water in the streets". Try TOXIC sludge from every chemical plant, dead body, and every other filth-source in the city.
Even people in the shelters have come up with some illnesses because they were in the water.
Look, if you want to defend the right of people to stay in their own homes, fine.
But don't let those people try and sue the City later because they got some "disease" or because then ran out of food/water in a couple of weeks.

I wonder how many of NO insiders are now in vegas and Atlanta "coordinating". I bet there are people who evacuated there and are going to be "reimbursed" for their "expenses."
Nagin is a fool, it is too late for his "mandatory" evacuation. Nagin is trying to save face by making the order regardless of the result.

Ok fine. Everyone just go back to the TOXIC sludge. Everyone return to your homes and create ANOTHER massive human trajedy. What it is about this statement you don't understand: The city is CLOSED for 4-6 months, minimum.
You are acting like "it's no big deal" and everybody can return cus some guy opened up a 7-11 in the French Quarter that wasn't even flooded.
Most of the homes in the flooded areas will have to be BULLDOZED, period.
This isn't a "property rights" issue. It's a SURVIVAL issue.
This is equivalent of somebody who lived in a high-rise apartment building near the World Trade Center saying, on 9-11, "I want to STAY cus this is my home." I only have food/water for a few days, there are no services (running water, etc.) and there won't be for 4-6 months, but I want to stay.
Go for it. Then you can starve and die or get some disease and die cus you were stupid and refused to evacuate.
I'm not saying New Orleans won't "rebuild". They will. Americans ARE strong. But most Americans aren't STUPID, and won't stay in a toxic sludge-filled dead city.

Good point. On Saturday morning, I began titration off anti anxiety medication under medical supervision. I don't want to take any medication not absolutely necessary. It took this calamity to bring me to this point. God forbid, something happens (terrorist attack, etc) and there's loss of infrastructure in my town, I want to be ready for it. (Load up on ammo too. After I learn to shoot a gun.)

Perhaps those jackboot images are EXACTLY what nagins wants.
He is trying to set up the military so he can be "outraged"

"Doubtful Landrieu will ever be Governor either. Despite the fact that her father is Lt. Governor."
So it is her dad that is Lt. Governor, I kept reading it was her brother.
I think that what Hillry was most worried about was the fair haired looker as competition in national politics, maybe a potential veep candidate.
Seems to me it is really to soon to say much about Landrieu and state politics, that will depend on what happens to the present governor, she does not appear to be out of the woods yet. Also the "vote" has been totally disrupted for anybody to know what to plan for.

" Nagin's useless "orders" are becoming comedic."
Sort of like Hitler in the bunker. He'd run around giving orders to move armies that no longer existed.

But you want NO residents to return their city. Man, Darwin was right: Guess your DNA won't make it past the next generation there Einstein.
To: Loyal Buckeye
The only thing they can't do is arrest people. And they should not be delivering food and water.
