(Vanity) Proposed Katrinagate Panel
Texas Jack | 09/07/05 | Texas Jack

<sarcasm on>

Listed below is a proposed list of potential panel members to investigate what the press has termed Katrinagate. They are listed by name and assumed function.

* Mayor Nagin - to find out how execute an emergency disaster plan, and blame President Bush,
* Governor Blanco - to understand her relationship with the Louisiana National Guard, and blame President Bush,
* Senator Landrieu - to punch out President Bush if he shows up,
* Sean (a mind is a terrible thing to waste) Penn - to demonstrate how worthless you can be when you drop out of high
                  school, and blame President Bush,
* Jamie Gorelick - to make sure the "wall" between the CIA and the FBI remains in place just in case some of this
                  scandal reveals illegal campaign contributions to former President Clinton,
* Hillary Clinton - to preen for the cameras, promote her presidential campaign, and blame President Bush,.

and last, but certainly not least,

* Sandy Berger - to steal and shred any documents that might incriminate previous administrations

We expect this panel to be equal to, or even more effective than the 9/11 commission was, in providing us with... err I'm not sure.

</sarcasm off>

PS Whatever happened to ABLE DANGER?

The Washington Post wrote an article earlier in the week that was unclear regarding a date. It stated the president pressed the Governor to sign paperwork to activate the military to secure the city on Friday.

What was not known, and reporters have not responded to my e-mails for clarification, was whether the Friday in question was the Friday before the storm or the Friday after the storm.

This Washington Times article makes it clear the Friday in question was BEFORE the storm.

So the Governor refused to sign paperwork to mobilize the National Guard or the military BEFORE the storm and at the direct request of the President of the United States.

As a result of her negligence, the city of New Orleans was unprotected from the rapists and murderers who preyed on the weak in the shelters. They also shot at FEMA and other rescue groups which delayed relief efforts.

Jamie Gorelick - to make sure the "wall" between the levees remains in place (use her to plug the hole).

Richard Ben Veniste would also be an excellent choice. Him and Gorelick have a long working relationship. While we're at it Tom raisin Keane and Lee Hamilton could really get to the bottom of this. They could do for Katrina what they did for 9/11. Fighting a never ending battle for Truth, Justice and the American Way.

Maybe a seat for Fat Ted, The Swimmer as he knows first hand what it is like to be responsible for someone's death from drowning due to incompetence.

Fellow Freepers:

At the suggestion of writer Michelle Malkin last Friday, I have cobbled together a blogsite called Texas Clearinghouse for Katrina Aid to serve as a clearinghouse for refugee efforts in Texas.

Texas is getting more refugees than any other state -- that's fine, we'll take them all -- but we need help providing them with food, clothing, and shelter.

If you are a refugee, you can information that will help you find relief. If you want to donate or volunteer, you can find someone who needs you.

Right now the site mostly covers Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio but I will add various churches, schools, and other charities in Ft. Worth and Lubbock tonight. My wife spent yesterday at Reunion Arena in Dallas handing out care packages and otherwise ministering to the refugees as a representative of her employer.

There are a lot of churches and other organizations in Texas that need help in dealing with the problem and I would greatly appreciate it if you would get the word out.

Many thanks,

Michael McCullough
