Bob Denver, the bumbling namesake of "Gilligan's Island" who embarked on what was supposed to be a three-hour tour and endeared himself to generations of TV fans, has died at age 70.
He died Friday at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in North Carolina of complications from treatment he was receiving for cancer, his agent, Mike Eisenstadt, told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Did ya know that Bob Denver was born the day after Elvis was born?

My son is going to be as sad as I am. We bought Gilligan's Island for a car trip this summer and he is hooked. To quote Bob Hope..."thanks for the memories".

Did ya know that Bob Denver was born the day after Elvis was born? No. That is interesting. If they knew each other they could have had a 2 day birthday party. That would have been a lot of fun.
To: right way right
In case you didn't notice, the others weren't much smarter.

LOL!
Tell you what, if I was on that island with you, Ginger and Mary Ann, and if there an indication you were going to save us, I'm sorry but I would have to drown you.......Nothing personal, thats just the way it is.

Although I liked him as Gilligan my favorite character was Maynard G. Krebbs on "Dobie Gillis".
To: Clintonfatigued
Wow. The guy has been frozen in time as Gilligan. I'd never thought he would age.
To: right way right
It was the 60s...a gentler time:) Personally, I blame the lack of rescue on the Howells. Someone with business dealings with Thurston
profited from Mr. Howell being 'out of the picture.' Like they always say, follow the money...
Rest in peace, Little Buddy.
