I unloaded 2, 3 in Magnum 12 ga 00 buckshells from a pistol gripped Ithaca clone 3 weeks ago and I braced for it.

My thumb is still sore. It could be fractured L0L. Id hate to think what would have happened if I wasnt ready for it.

A 20 seems like a nice choice for average home use for all builds

I once shot a 10 ga Browning.

Note the "once".

The 12 is just a wee bit too strong if you plan on shooting it a lot and you aren't very big, which I am not.

I shoot my dad's from time to time just to make sure I could still handle it if need be but I hurt like the blazes the next day.

One shot ok. Maybe two but much over that and I couldn't hit a thing

3 inch mags in a pistol grip 12 ga? You must be a glutton for punishment. I suggest getting some 2 3/4 Federal Tactical 00 buck. It has lower recoil than the standard load and will be much easier to shoot than 3 inch mags.

Your problem was the DISCO @$$ pistol grip. Under stress practically no one can hit with one and the recoil becomes uncontrollable
