Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, right, and Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, left, talk to reporters, Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, during a briefing at the Pentagon.
Whoops are not is
Thanks, snugs.
I'm amazed that Gen. Myers is still on active duty. Usually they have "terminal leave" - more accrued leave than they will get paid for, so the serviceperson usually disappears well before their "final" retirement date.
I suspect that Gen. Myers is just foregoing the pay that he would get for those hours, and staying around to do his job until his replacement has been voted on (Gen. Pace) in Congress.
Whatta guy, whatta guy.
Thanks for the pic of two of my heroes: Gen. Myers and Rummy.
BTW, I'm exhausted. Been helping loading up vehciles for acaravan of vehicles taking all sorts of supplies and goodies to a drop-off point that they've coordinated with various Churches on the East side of the Katrinia area.
Since our grocery stores and Wal-Mart are out of most supplies and since the trucks (heading to grocery store, to Wal-Mart) can't get here due to the lack of gasoline in the panhandle of FL, we were asked to "shop" our cupboards, so all this is being sent over has been donated out of people's homes.
