President Bush had a very busy day today, meeting with Secretary of Education, Margaret Spellings and First Lady Laura Bush, to discuss the educational needs of children displaced by Hurricane Katrina and how states might be able to absorb the cost of the large numbers of new students. He also met with the Cabinet to discuss the recovery efforts following the hurricane, and reuniting family members with each other, healthcare provision and finances.
At noon, the President met with representatives from national voluntary organizations to discuss how best to help the Americans who are evacuees from the hurricane. He pledged a full investigation into the response to the hurricane.
The President and First Lady also paid their respects to the late Chief Justice of the United States, William Rehnquist, spending a few moments bowing their heads at his casket.
Continue to pray for the President and the people in the ravaged Gulf Coast region, and enjoy this island of refuge from the blind attacks against our GOOD President on the Daily Dose!
I do too. As for the haters, I just ask His will to be done!
I've noticed that people are getting sick of it too; Rush had a clip of the mayor of N.O. after he'd talked to the Pres. He said the Pres. told him that he (the Pres.) wanted to declare an emergency but the Gov. of LA told him she "needed 24 hrs. to think about it." Then there was a clip of her saying, "It's so complicated, I needed time to consider all the issues, blah, blah, blah." Pretty pitiful.
I still think if they had some designated places where they could take their pets, more people would leave willingly. I realize there are health regulations and concers, but really, could it be any worse? I would not leave my pets.
Don't know what I would do without Free Republic.
The truth IS s-l-o-w-l-y emerging; however, the DEMONrat politicians (and their ultra-RINO counterparts, e.g., Susan Collins) are now controlled by the leftist wackos and these wackos want blood! WE MUST MAKE SURE IT'S THEIR BLOOD AND NOT THE PRESIDENT'S!!
I hadn't thought of the houses being structurally unsound. That is a very good possibility!
"We are truly blessed to have him leading us in the most trying times in our Nations history since Abraham Lincoln, and like Lincoln, President Bush will lead us through this storm...
"An Angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm"
THANK YOU for your insightful, beautifully written comments . . . right on per usual!
Awwwww, you have good little soldiers!
I wouldn't leave my pets either. But then I'm pretty sure I would have evacuated on my own, days before it hit, and taken my pets with me.
Am waiting for Bill O'Reilly's opening
remarks to be posted. He put it in cat, dog, mouse
language who was supposed to do what in N.O.
and he says the Gov. is finished.
You have got THAT right! Thanks to FR, I've been able to let Mr.FF know --in no uncertain terms-- where the blame should squarely be in this hurricane mess, which is (1)LA guv and (2)NO mayor. Otherwise, I just know he'd be on the bash-Bush-bandwagon. That seems to have been largely mitigated, so I have hopes!
God bless 1SGMike!
"RC fired a Christian employee here in SD that declined to participate in a "celebration of the gay lifestyle".
Can you give me particulars about this or link me to a source?
I can use this information.
Cheers!
Patty
Thank You, it's how I feel
So true. They are such solid people of character. I admire them both so very much. We see pictures of them day after day--we can see that they are real and down to earth. That couldn't be faked (considering how we scrutinize their photos!).
Thanks, I would have replied earlier, but my cable connection keeps dumping me :-(
Thanks
I'm watching Joe Scarborough and I believe he has gone over to the other side. He has become a complete drama queen that makes Giraldo Rivera look a like stoic Walter Cronkite
