Connick Surveys Father's Damaged La. Home (Priceless quote)

NEW YORK - Traveling by boat and wading through foul-smelling water, Harry Connick Jr. surveyed the damage by Hurricane Katrina to his father's New Orleans home.

It wasn't as bad as Connick had feared. "It looks like pop's house made it through," he said. "Everything looks like it's pretty dry."

Connick returned to New Orleans Monday, a trip documented for NBC's "Today" show and aired Tuesday. He had traveled to the city last week.

His father, Harry Connick Sr., served as district attorney of New Orleans for 29 years before retiring in 2003. Last week, the 37-year-old jazz singer said all of his immediate family were safe.

Like many, Connick wanted to return to protect his family's house: "I don't want to get looted by the one-eyed rogue crackhead out there."

One-eyed doesn't count. The Cyclops has to be on crack to qualify. I don't think Ulysses' Cyclops was on crack. This means we have to look for a new category...

The movie had multiple scenes that will stay with you forever.

1) Drexel (Oldman) meeting Clarence (Slater) at the "club".
2)Walken (Vincenzo)trying to get Hopper (Clarence's father) to talk...the Sicilian carrying the certain gene since the Moors invaded Italy
3) Alabama (Arquette) and Virgil (Gandolfini...Tony Soprano)in the motel room.

I think I'll watch it again tonight ;^)

I don't know what he's on, but that arrow didn't phase him a bit! Hit him again! Go for the head shot!

I thought Christopher Walken's role was his best

You can't just go single-character for that. The bit between Walken and Dennis Hopper was priceless.

But let's get back on subject, sort of. Connick was pretty good in Memphis Belle.

"I don't think Ulysses' Cyclops was on crack."

I believe his downfall was that he was an alcoholic.

Well, what would have been the pre-AD equivalent of crack? Frankly, I don't think Falernian wine would have done it. Unless they'd drunk the whole barrel...

Therefore the evil KKKatrina Hurricane spared his house.

Great flick. The scene with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper is my favorite of all time.

Had to be the hogshead of Falernian wine, then...Maybe this is the way to deal with looters?

BTW, I have always thought the scene with the fire-sharpened stake, etc., to be one of the yuckiest scenes in literature.

Could be a start. But note comment above. I think this poking out the eye stuff is yucky.
