Troops find grisly scenes in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Troops scouring New Orleans for survivors and victims reported finding at least 40 mutilated bodies in the Convention Center refugee center.
Arkansas National Guardsman Mikel Brooks told the New Orleans Times Picayune many of the dead were elderly, or showed signs of trauma.
"There's another one in the freezer, a 7-year-old with her throat cut," he said.
As the searches became more organized since the Aug. 29 onslaught of Hurricane Katrina, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said repair crews had patched the ruptured levee along the 17th Street Canal and had begun pumping out water.
The failure of the levee system after the storm left about 80 percent of the city flooded up to 20 feet deep, and Corps officials said it would take nearly three months to drain some neighborhoods, CNN reported.
Deputy Police Chief Warren Riley told reporters that thousands of people -- many of them with pets -- are insisting on staying in what he called "a hazard."
"We advise people that this city has been destroyed. It has been completely destroyed," Riley said.
"In all honesty, we know who bears the blame here. What is also true is that those two fools will never be held to account because one is black and the other is a woman."
I agree with one exception they wont be held accountable because the RINOs (like Bush and McCain) will never press the issue.

You are correct in that the animals that committed these crimes are responsible for committing them. The governor is responsible for refusing help from the military by not allowing the feds to take charge. She is responsible for that. This breakdown of authority falls on her shoulders.
Ultimately the entire liberal left and their social engineering has borne its ugly rotten fruit. They also bear some responsibility for enabling the environment to brew and fester simply to stay in power.
It is not my job to plan those things. But it has been done before with communities where people can live 45 mins out of an industrial area. It would be suicidal imo to rebuild with homes and businesses to the levels they had pre-storm.
The Gulf of Mexico is not going anywhere but the marshes and land of New Orleans have been slowly sinking for years.
I have seen quite a bit of confusion about, and in, this reporting.
The Super Dome was the storm shelter that had been designated as such and had National Guard in place.
The Convention Center was not a primary storm shelter, but after the levees broke large numbers of inner city people began to make their way their hoping local officials would have some established order to help them make their way to safety.
Instead, the looters, followed by the thugs, and druggies took over much ot the city for three days and the Convention Center was a target for the scum in search of victims.
I'm pretty sure, they will rebuild.

The scum has been evacuated to various locations, many out of state. They will continue their evil and eventually be caught but the poor people who will die in the meantime.

The body was found in the Convention Center, so it very well may not be the same person, since the rape of the 7 year old took place in the Superdome.
After watching some of the flood/hoodlum coverage yesterday my wife said 'now I'm glad we have firearms in the house'. When the press goes on to other miseries we can need to feed the blowback on the gun control democrats who would disarm us. The big message of this is when civil order collapses you can not rely on government...and civil order can collapse.
There's a lot of urban legends floating around NO, and lots of "reputable" reporters eager to report them for fame and fortune...Read these news reports with care, and ask, "where are the witnesses?"

A body can be mutilated by means other than through "human" actions. I don't believe anything printed in the Times-Picayune.
I hope and pray this is not correct. Especially the part about the 7 year old.
There will be much more of this uncovered as time goes by. New Orleans is proving that there are pockets, indeed craters, of third-world mentality in our society.
Best idea I have heard. Keep the historical areas, including the Quarter, and center the rest on the port. All residents must live outside the levees.
