Like a Hoover.
7) Under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, the Federal Government and FEMA are not allowed to interfere with local operations unless they are authorized by state and local leaders. Blanco did not authorize this until September 1, 2005.
(8) FEMA was there and helping, in the capacity that was allowed by local officials, but could not swing into full gear until after Blanco gave them permission.
That would be Wednesday September 1, 2005
There. Fixed a factual error in this sentence.
Actually, it seems to me that the furor is dying down now. No doubt the MSM will try to keep it going, but heck, even Clinton has said that now is not the time...
How about Nagingate or Emptyschoolbusgate?
Blanco requested FEMA's help with DEBRIS REMOVAL:

Debris removal.
""Has Katrina saved the US media,?" asked BBC reporter Matt Wells who sees the shift in tone as a potentially historic development."
In the final analysis, it may have actually assisted in its self-immolation. The more I see and hear and read, the more I know that the MSM does NOT have our best interests at heart.
Thanks for posting this, but the original author needs to come down off his drug high before writing any more.
Could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.
No agenda here.

I just thought I'd repeat that. Since she didn't think it was important to ask for other help until September 1st.
I've never seen such horrible leadership in my entire life. Ever. And I've been saying it since the day before the storm even hit when it became evident the only reason a mandatory evacuation was ordered was because the president called and pressed them to do it.
I wonder how many little children were raped because Blanco waited to call in the National Guard?
How about GangstaThugGate?
I think the media persons that have been on the scene since the beginning, probably know more about what it si really like than anyone else...except for the actual residents.
Well, the difference between those other things is people actually care about what happened in NOLA.
Reporters are supposed to be dispassionate about what they cover.
I'm sure this reporter was affected by what she saw in NO and the Gulf Coast. I now I'd probably feel the same way
But now she has lost any thin veneer of journalistic objectivity (she may have thought she had) when she shouted out at Michael Brown.
She needs to be removed from her position immediately and transferred elsewhere. She's not doing her profession any good and she's not doing the public any good.
I have watched coverage pretty close, I think it was Thursday before I heard anything about the Convention Center. Chertoff, said it was Thursday before the locals told FEMA that people were at the convention center. Plenty of talk about the Super Dome, before Thursday but I don't recall the convention center till Thursday. Anyone know difference.
The leftists media are trying to relive their glory years of the'70s when they brought down Nixon and the U.S. military in Vietnam. Communists through and through.
