Hang tight FReeper FRiend. We learn about our politicians, our insurance & our FRiends when the going gets tough.

Don't now worry about the recall etc. (JUST MHO).. get your feet on the ground, hug & love those dear to you, thank God you are spared & then seek to find the way you can make a difference.

Part of me thinks that the corrupt situation there will be hard to fight.. and maybe this is your fight.. but maybe you can make a difference in some oder ways.

Prayers for God's guidance IS YOUR FRIEND!

I told my husband the same thing. The lake will be like the dead sea for a long time, if not forever; if this wasn't a Dem City in a Dem State Robert Kennedy would be there screaming his head off saying you can't do that. IF they rebuild, with all these toxins the cancer rate will soar.

We are on the evacuation pathway, I suppose. THIS time we were affected by the hurricane, ourselves. Most of us were without power for days, without ice, without water, without the most basic of supplies.

We haven't recovered, yet our Governor and our Mayor have decided we will and have received substantial numbers of out of STATE evacuees and must cope with them, no matter what, and the evacuees are complaining they haven't received what they were promised.

Start by telling her white people are not bigots. Everyone needs to get rid of the chip and move forward.

There is that! Where else can people have a hobby that consumes them for hours on end for so little money a month?

Speaking of schools--a French newspaper reported that 1200 people drowned at the Marion Abramson School in NO. Was this building being used as a shelter? Does anyone know anything about this?

Marion Abramson Senior High School
Grades: 8-12
Type: public
Enrollment: 1757
5552 Read Boulevard
New Orleans, LA 70127
Orleans County

It would tick me off to hear people complaining, especially since so many of the people from NO had virtually nothing, from what I can tell.

Their own mayor has said a lot of them are druggies, who typically have nothing. And a lot of them were one step up from homeless, according to some commentators on CNN.

So they are now being housed in a safe environment and are darned lucky the government is taking care of them, imo.

Well, I just hate to see you so angry with your mayor and governor, Letitring. There's a church nearby that is taking in 50 people and I'm signed up to volunteer there for a few hours a week. It will give me a new perspective on people and like the mentoring I did last year for an inner city school, it made me realize that we really are all one people and have to look out for each other.

I'm not trying to lecture you and I'm sorry if it sounds that way. A year ago I'd have been feeling exactly the way you feel but that experience in the school gave me a new perspective, that's all.
