An Iraqi alien listed on the Terror Watch List. Hmmm ... and we knew about it ... and he was still in this country?

WHAT IS HOMELAND 'SECURITY' DOING?!

I knew an old boy up there who I used to work with. Nice guy but this was back in the 90s. Not this guy but he and his whole family were Saudis living in Asheville. The parents were stable, and probably law abiding. This old boy and his brother though, I could see them being on somebody's list one day

....and the world wonders why we hate these bastards so.

Not just a baby, but his own baby daughter!

What I find also amazing about this story is;

1. The guy was a known alien suspect on a Terrorist Watch List

2. The local police knew it and were just "observing" him and knew his home address

3. He had a court restraining order against him, so he was known as a dangerous troublemaker

4. The FBI were well aware of him

5. He was still here, in town, running around loose instead of either in Gitmo or long ago sent back to Iraq where he could be handled by Iraqi authorities

Incredible, is it not?

And the authorities are asking us to keep our eyes open!??

"There was a domestic violence protection order prohibiting Al-Hilo from being around the victim, Parks confirmed."

Sheesh, maybe they should have written the restraining order in Arabic? How's a violent domestic criminal suppose to know if he can't read the restraining order?! We should probably get Hillary to form a congressional committee to look into the failure of the Bush administration's domestic violence policies...

...well that sure helped... If you have to file a protection order then you need a weapon, cause all it's going to do is p#ss off the other party. If that guy is psycho enough to need law enforcement to file a protective order then he's violent and she needed a gun...

oh well, at least they can charge him with violating a protective order, on top of murder.... once again, leave it up to the local government to protect you... you get ................... pretty much a piece of paper with a phone number on it.

Sure does make me feel safe and secure in my home town! Wow, what galls me is they let this dude run around and don't try and put him away? Something smells here, and I think it may be the laws he has been hiding behind!

If he was an Iraqi that had committed crimes (local police were familiar with him) couldn't/shouldn't his VISA be denied and he be deported? I thought being on a visa was kind of like being on "supervision" where if you committed a crime (esp. a violent one) you lost the right to stay.

Of course the article didn't raise these issues, so it's hard to know what happened really... It doesn't seem that journalists are as thorough nowadays.
