"It is true that Darwin 'lost' his Christian faith, though probably as much through the emotional crisis of the death of his daughter as anything else, but it is simply wrong to claim that Darwin, or indeed any of the multitude of serious scientists who have built on his work and insights, have set out with an agenda to banish God (or Allah or the Flying Spaghetti Monster) from the universe. Evolutionists do not have a religious agenda."

I do thank you for your honesty, and most respectful response.

I did not know about Darwin's loss and him loosing faith, and I can see that loosing a child would cause question of ones faith.

I do not fear evolutionists banning the Heavenly Father in any shape, fashion, or form. Rather an allowance by the Heavenly Father because the majority of those supposedly following Him do not have a clue what the first 6 chapters of Genesis really say. It is written in another place that it is not given for all to have understanding, for their own protection.

So I do not want a specific brand of religion in science class taught what I do expect is acknowledgment there is a controversy. I do think that as taxpayers paying for the education acknowledgment is due.

I think consideration from the evolutionists should be given to what a young mind does with the information that he/she descended from animals. Public education is suffering and while creationists share the blame where they are wrong they are not totally responsible. I find no evolutionists willing to even entertain they have any responsibility in what is now public education.

Which "evolutionisits" share the blame for the current sorry state of American public eduction? Very few practicing evolutionary biologists I know of have anything to do with public education. Some write biology textbooks, maybe, but I haven't seen any evidence that biology textbook quality is particularly bad. It's the history, math, and English books that seem to be the worst.

The people primarily responsible for destroying are schools are the education bureaucrats, teachers' colleges, and teachers' unions. Why aren't you fighting them?

One of the reasons why education is suffering is because conservatives are wasting resources on this stupid fight about "intelligent design" nonsense instead of fighting to improve standards, abolishing teacher tenure, purging the social science and humanities curriculum from leftist and revisionist garbage, etc.

With all the leftist horrors in public education, the one thing that gets seems to get conservatives most worked up is evolution. If that is the best we conservatives can do, our country is doomed.
