Will it ever end? How far does our Government have to go to prove to everyone that we have and are working very hard to help the people of NO?

We have gone so far as to place the refugees on cruise ships to live, which is probably the most expensive solution of all.
No projects for these folks.

What more can we do without bankrupting the U.S.
And why hadn't we gone this overboard to care for the people of FL when hurricanes, floods and devastation hit there?

I think they will play the victim card as long as the media is there reporting them as victims. imho

Having said that, logistics are a bitch. Hubby is active duty, he has deployed, there is always a time element of getting boots on the ground. At least 3 days.

"And why hadn't we gone this overboard to care for the people of FL when hurricanes, floods and devastation hit there?"

Two reasons:

1) The devastation and loss of life is many times greater in this storm, thus much greater need exists. Even the extensive damage left by Hurricane Andrew doesn't come close.

2) Florida's leadership was competent.

They had to put plans to transfer elderly and single women with children from the astrodome to cruise ships this morning because some of them didn't want to go. They would have been sleeping in beds. Private showers. Entertainment. This doesn't make sense.

It's not over yet . I predict that Jesse Jackson or Maxine Waters will demand a million dollars reparation per hurricane victim . Mark my word and note that I said it first here on FR
