America doesn't belong to you. Thank goodness for the protections of our secular Constitution. It is what protects folks from fanatics.

In 1817 in a letter from John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, wrote: “Oh! Lord ! Do you think that a Protestant Popedom is annihilated in America? Do you recollect, or have you ever attended to the ecclesiastical Strifes in Maryland, Pensilvania, New York, and every part of New England? What a mercy it is that these People cannot whip and crop, and pillory and roast, as yet in the U.S.! If they could they would.”

You are sad, sad little person. You haven't read the federalist papers or the writings of the framers, have you?

Massachusetts still had an official state religion in 1817. The Constitution wasn't as "secular" as some are trying to make it. Even after the 14th Amendment was passed, there were people trying to amend the Constitution further, to create the separation of church and state, which was brought about decades later via *activist* federal court rulings.
