A week after the storm, a definitive death toll remained elusive. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin warned on NBC's "Today" that "it wouldn't be unreasonable to have 10,000" dead.
Despite the grim estimate, he was more upbeat than in previous days, when he railed against the federal government and broke down sobbing during a radio interview.
"We're making great progress now, the momentum has picked up. I'm starting to see some critical tasks being completed," he told NBC.
"The 17th Street canal is about or was about 84 percent closed in yesterday afternoon. We have more troops arriving, so we're starting to make the kind of progress that I kind of expected earlier."

ReverendJesseJackster sure sounds like he could be Raygun Nagin, doesn't he?
And Nagin flying over with Oprah and NAACP (though hopefully might help), will also be used for political purposes.
Good idea for a MOAB.
Thanks for reading my mind again. Peach you should stream Hannity, he's playing all the bias clips, refuting and has great guests. http://www.wabcradio.com
That post from a NO cop is found here:

More correctly, it should be named the "Katherine [Blanco] Commission".

Hi, AliVeritas. I was listening to Hannity for a bit.
There's so much that isn't getting out. Good and bad. Read this and if half of it is true, it's horrific.

Well by golly, you are right. You linked the very post to itself ;-)
Perhaps I didn't make myself clear: It's obvious the blame game comes from the Left. It would be politically wise for Bush to call attention to it and point out how detrimental to the recovery & healing process.
Ooops :-)
My first thoughts exactly! Funny how a few days ago it was all about "them" not doing anything. Suddenly it's "we" are doing this and "we" are doing that.
Bumping your post!
They're all blaming Bush.
Don't you know, everything that goes wrong is Bush's fault.
Nobody is pointing fingers except the MSM.
Don't worry - - in the Dem mind, "dead" doesn't mean they won't still be able to vote!

However, there were many water towers that were unaffected, tons of trucking centers with available trucks and plenty of supplies in warehouses that had a dry route to the dome. Why didn't the Mayor/Governor use the resources available?
Exchanging 'yo da man' high fives while getting high (higher).
The elderly, the handicapped, mental handicaps, the criminal vermin, lower income, the unemployed.
Just where was he going to take them?
Houston did not want them.
They already tore up one dome, why another?
He let them stay, as advised, and the BEST OF THE BEST came in and took out the armed gangs over the weekend, for the good of the nation, so rescue could continue.
The mayor got the white folks out of the dome quickly. The black people who told the British visitors "White folks don't belong here.", were only giving their best advice.
The dregs of society were left for the public to see unmasked, and their behavior proved the mayor and 'above' correct.
This nation and it's current leaders showed it's amazing ability to remain calm and do the right thing.
Again, and again.
Incredible...keep that in the public eye.
