For reasons unfathomable, the idiots in charge of New Orleans had no problem corraling people to the Louisiana Superdome, but somehow couldn't manage to get them to the buses and get them the hell out of the hazard area?

You don't understand - those were school buses - I saw one person complaining yesterday that some of those evacuated to Texas had to travel in school buses which was quite demeaning to them and sized for school children and thus terribly uncomfortable for a drive of such distance. (seriously, right after Anderson Cooper said he couldn't believe a phone company didn't immediately start dropping satellite phones from the sky so people there could make free phone calls).
