By GUY PATRICK STUNNING Hammasa Kohistani hit back at critics after becoming the first Muslim to be crowned Miss England. The Uzbekistan-born beauty overcame a storm of controversy to win the title. Islamic leaders argued her participation was unlawful. Some said all four Muslim entrants including Iraq-born Sarah Mendly, 23, should withdraw as it was against the teachings of the Koran to show flesh. Student Hammasa, 18, wore a sarong over her white bikini as she beat 40 other girls on Saturday. She said: I dont think Ive done anything wrong. I have the utmost respects for the strong beliefs of the religious leaders and they have the right to express opinions. I hope they will respect my decisions too.
I always listen to my family. They are great supporters of what Im doing. They are very, very proud and happy with what I have achieved. As long as theyre happy, then my conscience is clear.
Hammasa of Uxbridge, Middlesex, vowed to win Miss World in December. She said: Ill do my best. |
"I hope these young ladies have good security."I agree.I would not be one bit surprised if someone issued a fatwa. This will be interpeted as a slap in the face, and an insult to a lot of moslems.

Where does thin end and anorexia begin?
She appears very pretty.
It's just too bad that her father and mother mutilated her genitals when she was 8 years old.
But Allah knows best!
SHE ISN'T ALL THAT! THERE ARE SO MANY AFGHAN/MUSLIM GIRLS THAT ARE PRETTIER THAN HER, BUT JUST DON'T HAVE THE COURAGE TO WEAR A BIKINI FOR MONEY...
She is not 18. All Afghan families lied about their daughters/sons ages when they left afghanistan 25 years ago so their kids would be able to attend school. She is 24 years old.
She's pretty,
But damn! Someone feed her! Her twiggy little arms make her look like one of my patients.
The Sara chick, however, looks smashing (and healthy)
