Bush's FAULT!!!
Karl Rove is manipulating satellite imagery!
He casued this hurricane to kill black people!
He caused this hurricane to sneak Roberts' confirmation through!
He caused this hurricane to give Bush a face-saving reason to bring troops home from Iran!

Although it's obvious these were taken at different times of the nights due to less lighting in areas not affected, it's still very impressive.

This is a good answer to the "why no help" for NO crowd. If NO ever flooded help was supossed to come from the surronding areas. They were also evacuation areas. They said the damaged area was big, this is a good illustration of how big.

I knew Missisippi got whopped, but I didn't know they'd be lights off so far north in that state...

For the benefit of Illinois citizens, a little work with "Streets and Trips" will show that the area affected (NO to Mobile to Meridian to Jackson) is approximately equivalent to St Louis to Indianapolis to Chicago to Quad Cities. Two one-lane Interstates are open. Secondary roads are blocked by downed trees. No power, water, gasoline.
Oh, yes, I-70 has everything within a half mile wiped clean. And north St Louis is under water.

Thanks. This is a very valuable thread and quite informative. Would be better if both images could be side by side or over and under. Being on a dial up it was a bit of a pain to go through all the windows to get them next to each other.
Thanks for this info condi2008. Don't mean to carp ... just adding a suggestion.

While we're wishing...it'd be nice if they'd had a third pic...one from last night, to compare how much power has gotten back online...

BEFORE
AFTER
Ignore the blue VS black difference, only due to pic being taken at different times of night.
The thing to note is the absense of 'yellow' light sources in SE LA, and Southern MI

Wow, we have troops in Iran. lol Darn. I just gave away next week's Dem accusation. We really have troops engaged in a secret war in Iran. Just like Nixon did with Laos and Cambodia. You heard it here first. < / sarc.. or is it?>
