WASHINGTON - (KRT) - With many blaming the growing scope of Katrina's devastation on the Bush administration, Sen. Hillary Clinton called Sunday for a 9/11-style probe into how the federal government responded to the crisis. "It has become increasingly evident that our nation was not prepared," Clinton, D-N.Y., said in a letter to Bush asking him to set up a "Katrina Commission."

Miss Gulch on a bicycle! but that was fast.

If it was run like the 911 commission, Landrau would be the chairman of the commission and NO's mayor would be a member.
let the truth come out and have the Democrats be embarrassed about the blame game played at the expense of the nation.

Typical reaction from a politician. No matter what happens, call for a commission. The commission will of course be made up of a number of lawyers, a large budget and a staff.
Hear lings will be held. This could keep a large number of people busy for a long time, imagine, investigation a storm.

First,Hillary, let's air those pictures showing acres and acres of NO school buses standing in four feet of water-that were standing there just as idly, on dry ground all the week before the hurricane hit, when mandatory evacuation had been ordered.
Then let's ask Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin to explain why those buses were not used in accordance with the rules of NO's Emergency Evacuation plan????? And air a complete copy of the city's evacuation plan.
Let the dimwitted duo then tell us why they should not be charged with criminal negligence, for every dead person found in the city. And ask Senator Landeiru to explain how the incompentence of those two jokers she so highly praised, is Bush's fault?

Someone should ask Hillary about the propriety of James Lee Witt giving the wench who just awarded him a fat contract legal advice on how to avoid a federal takeover of the disaster response.
How about it, Hillie? How ethical was that?

What a PIAPS.
Instead of a commission why don't you open your house in Cappiqua to the refuges?
Heck it is probably empty most of the time anyhow....

First question goes to Mayor Nagin :
Explain why the school buses were not used to evacuate the people.

I expect that it will be even more partisan, even more inept and even more blind to the obvious than the 9/11 commission.
The conclusions are obvious too. Bush and DHS and FEMA failed to act, Bush failed to build the levees that no one would have allowed him to build anyway, Bush failed to sign Kyoto, and black poverty must be ended by massive redistribution of wealth.
So now that we know, what's the point in wasting billions on the commission?

Reminds me of a line from a Mel Brooks movie,
"Following the birth of the Arts, came the inevitable afterbirth of the Critic"History of the World, Part 1. A great flick. Try the mulled wine.
We should give the Dems the Inquisition (What a show). It would take a miracle for them to pull this one off.
