Texas has taken in something like 250,000 "refugees/evacuees" but to hear the news, it sounds like Texans are a bunch of "bastids" for saying they have reached a manageable number and can't take on any more. So, let's hear it, Blue States. Ante up!

C'mon, it'll be fun, Blue States! Actually, I hear Houstonians are outdoing one another to see who can be the most charitable. Texas Pride!

In all the TX cities I've seen, the refugee centers have been filled to overflowing with donations from locals. In many places, they are having to turn to not just a secondary drop site but a tertiary one because the secondary drop is full.

One local real estate company is putting up large families in vacant rental properties. Some of which are very, very nice. Others are following suit.

If we can do this on the spur of the moment, with more than twice the number of people we were told to expect, why can't the rest of the country.
