I need to make a fine distinction here.

I have no objection to New Orleans being rebuilt. My point is that clearly some, mostly in the media and local government are unhappy with the Federal effort that has been put into that so far.

If they feel we are just in the way, that they can do a much better job, I say, "By all means then, tear it up. Give me a call when you finish and maybe I'll take in a Mardi Gras and some jazz. SEEya."

I'm thinking about holding out for an apology. I really want to see Russert, Blanco and Nagin grovel a bit.

...ok, a LOT.

I want to see them hung from the nearest convenient tall object as a warning.

I'm primitive that way.

I think that we are going to be surprised by how quickly some parts of this city - get back up and running. in areas that have either no flooding, or street & minor first floor flooding - once they get these pumps going for a couple of weeks and get the electricity turned back on to those areas, you will see alot of indigneous efforts to begin the cleanup in those locations.
