I haven't been keeping up with the live threads, they move too fast for me. I just don't know here to pose (or post) this question. We've all heard about NO and that there are deaths and devastation in MS, AL and FL, but what of those that did evacuate in time? These folks are staying with friends, relatives or maxing out their credit cards in hotels. Their lives are gone. Their homes, possessions, businesses and jobs no longer exist! The lms seem only interested in reporting on the lowest levels of society. Are there any plans to assist these good citizens?

Elaine Chao, Secretary of Labor, has been on TV and radio trying to get out the message about massive support for employment insurance payouts - even for self-employed on some kind of basis. She mentioned going to the Dept of Labor website. dol.org

I too haven't heard as much about Ms and Ala and Florida...

BUT, I did watch a talk that President Bush gave to some people in Miss. today and HE sure hasn't forgotten them...and he is as involved in helping them as NO...

Actually, I would think that some departments could be doing a lot for the MS and Ala, because they aren't under 10 feet of water...

Look for reports from Rick Leventhal on Fox---he is doing a good job of reporting on MS....I don't remember who is in Alabama...

Perhaps we freepers need to put out the word to all freepers to post on this thread, any and all information from those other states...make it a priority in OUR hearts and minds at least...
