Yes this was an interview with Lott and that is what he (Lott) said. He stated that he and the President were friends and that he and Haley Barbour were friends. That all the powers (governors, mayors) that be in the Mississippi area knew him.
Damn it. And I liked disliking Lott. :-)
Well, always figured Lott for his own man. Had to give him that. Guess he's now off my list. I don't trust him politically, but to buck the beltway and defend the president reveals something good about the character of the man.
I am thinking maybe this is Lott's way of telling his fellow congresscritters that they better not play politics with any $$$$ going to fix up these cities...
He KNOWS he has Bush in his corner...
