He's a moron. At least with a hurricane you have a chance to evacuate with your family. I was in Bellevue, (then) husband was downtown Seattle, and my kids were South of Tacoma, much closer to the epicenter (although it didn't matter with the depth.) All the cell phone lines were jammed and the phone lines were iffy, too. It was hours before I knew my children were safe. (Was I ever a blubbering mess!)
Shep is on Letterman
really????
Joe.... four questions:
1) Why would the federal government continue to send money to fix the levee's in New Orleans when it was a known fact the Levee Commissoners were using the money to buy casino's, boats, etc... (there is a long, published, list of items they bought with Government Funds)..
2)How did the City of New Orleans spend the money that was sent to them for Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness? Wasn't that supposed to go for things like Satellite Radios so the police, fire, etc., could all communicate in an emergency? Wasn't it for cities to set up evacuation centers and supply them? I think the Tax Payers didn't get their money's worth from New Orleans.
3)Since when is it the responsibility of the President of the United States to personally evacuate a city before a storm? Isn't it enough that he called them Saturday night and BEGGED them to evacuate New Orleans ASAP.... and make a public plea to the people to evacuate.
4) Would you have the National Guard and Military have all their equipment in the zone of the storm so it could be destroyed and then no one could be rescued. It certainly sounds like that is what the mainstream media is wanting.
I am VERY disapointed at you, Joe.
Intellectually you know under posse comitatus the President's hands were tied until the Governor requested his help by declaring Martial Law (which Mississippi and Alabama did immediately) and she held off on strictly for political reasons.
Because the Democratic Party wants to use this disaster to make political hay people died. I understand that. What I don't understand is why you are playing into their hands?
Speaking of twenty lashes, here's a beautiful rant on the dilemma Pres. Bush faces.

PS I know they weren't taxpayers, but Rev Al Baby says they are.}:^P
Thanks for the info. We're on septic, and so far so good. They have big trucks that can pump the tanks out, but how would you do that during a Cat4 hurricane?
Could the buckets and 55 gallon drum ideas work in a situation like the Superdome?
Thanks...first he is a guest on O'Reilly, now Letterman.
gosh, going loopy really does work in show-biz!!!
Nagin said the city had the authority to force residents to evacuate but didn't say if it was taking that step. He did, however, detail one heavy-handed tactic: Water will no longer be handed out to people who refuse to leave.

on our local news tonight here in houston, they said something about the refugees/evacuees in the astrodome leaving and going partying, getting drunk and coming back to the dome all hours of the night stirring up trouble. They had to inact a curfew tonight.
And now Hillary wants a 9/11 style "Katrina Kommission." I swear her Cankle toxins have made her lose her mind, HGC.
I can't take any more. My head's gonna explode.
The Democrats left 250,000 American citizens to *die*.
I don't know if you watched O'Reilly tonight...but Shep was a guest, talking about his adventures in NO...
Towards the end of the interview, Shep admitted that when he originally went down there to cover the hurricane, he truly thought that it would be like 12 hours of wind and rain, and then it would be over.
Which jibes with his attitude all day on Tuesday, when he said that NO lucked out again....until the flooding started that is.
Just lovely. I am glad this is all coming out, because now I know that in a natural disaster the very last place I will want to be is a large government shelter. I will track down any family member I can, even if I can't stand them or barely know them, and show up on their front door with a dog, three cats, and four kids. If they don't like it, I'll sleep in their driveway!
Well judging by Europe's MSM, they aren't any better than ours. I certainly hope there is some fair coverage regarding this disaster.
Oh.. I KNOW you knew that...my taxpayers comment was directed at Sharpton's head...LOL I am sorry if you got the impression that I was directing that at you!!
"on our local news tonight here in houston, they said something about the refugees/evacuees in the astrodome leaving and going partying, getting drunk and coming back to the dome all hours of the night stirring up trouble."
LOL, Care to wager that the next reports will be of women on the upper levels flashing their chests to those chanting below?
did they even give that info on the national news??
Weren't there over a million people in New Orleans to begin with? What is happening to all the people who self-evacuated before the storm? Where are they? (I know not being helped by the Red Cross!) To be honest, I am more upset for the middle class homeowners who weren't already on the dole. They have mortgages, car payments, and more to pay and a lifestyle to lose. What's going to happen to them?
Dang---that was a well thought out, topic specific e-mail. You didn't rant and rave, and act like a wacko blaming JS for things...
He truly MUST have watched his shows and felt embarrassed for what HE was saying...to take it out on you.
Actually, he should have you as a guest, you make much more sense than the people he has on.
