I hear ya, sweetie!
The LSM's performance has been shameful!
Sorry, I misread it. See my 159.
I wondered if Dusty was having trouble walking, then could see he (?) definitely didn't want to go and thought I was seeing things when all four legs were up in the air and he was being dragged along on his back! Guess we'll hear from PETA next.
Wasn't it amazing how Geraldo showed up just before all the troops were moving in? All the nasty remarks about Shep Smith were really over the top. For days he watched as babies, elderly and sick people had to live like animals on that overpass, unable to do anything to help them. I guess it wouldn't bother those with a heart of stone. To see that poor woman with a five day old baby! really upset him. Thank God he was able to at least help her. He badly needed a break from that post and I'm sorry he wasn't there to see the rescue after seeing so much misery.
Of course it's possible that had Geraldo been there on day one everyone would have been rescued right away, just to escape his drama! Is there a fine for overacting?
Dude, please........not while I'm drinking milk.
Why does Cindy have to appear on every single thread? She's old news. The MSM is giving her enough space without continually intruding on Free Republic. I fail to see what mention of her adds to anything. Who cares??? I wonder if anyone else is as offended as I am. She isn't worthy of even being mentioned. I'm beginning to wonder if 'rat plants are doing this to keep her name in print.
I agree about Shep Smith. I didn't watch all he did. I saw him lose it a couple of times, but it looked more like real frustration than histrionics [sp]. I don't remember that he ever specifically blamed anyone. What I saw was a complaint that it shouldn't have got to that point, unlike Geraldo screaming like a maniac about the Feds every chance he got.
Don't forget all those overhead wires everywhere. Very dangerous to helicopter ops.
Yes, I was quite surprised that someone in charge didn't knock down those light poles on the LZ expressway.
Not the big sign but just the light poles, a truck, forklift
a blast from a SAW and over they would have gone.
Had to have a high pucker factor landing and taking off from there.
Agree with you about Geraldo's dramatics...but he is always that way..has been for a long time..a very over the top passionate guy. I stopped being "amused" with him after he so blatantly came out in defense of Michael Jackson.
Do you know who will break his arm patting his own back is??
Bill O'Reilly....wow, if you listen to his radio show, he will spend 20 minutes of an hour telling you what all he has done to straighten out the problems of America...it used to make me mad...now I just laugh at him...like Geraldo.
Drives me crazy, too.
And the incessant "It's Bush's Fault!"
This is one reason why people didn't just see a wave of helicopters swarming the city from the beginning. Besides the logistic nightmare both in and out of New Orleans, there just wasn't enough resources for ground control.
Some Dem made a comment today asking were all the 'copters were. According to an official on Tuesday, they had 40 at their disposal but just couldn't handle the air-traffic, safely. We've also seen bus accidents for similar reasons.
Exactly. I've concluded that a great many people in the US see life a a video game.
Thanks, guys. You could see Shep's heart break when the woman told him her baby was 5 days old--delivered a baby 5 days ago and walked thru who-knows-what to get up there? To have nothing--no diapers, no bonnet to shield it from the sun, no water. Just put yourself in her place, or your wife or sister or girl friend. I have been praying for them both ever since and hope they are all right. I can only say to the scoffers, just put yourself in her place.
And as for Shep, I'm reminded of a favorite Native American saying, Great Spirit, let me not criticize my neighbor until I have walked a mile in his moccasins. I'm sure this tragedy has had a huge effect on him. Thanks, Shep!
Actually I think Geraldo wears golden slippers! ;)
Well I here the Dem in San Francisco want to officially rename the San Andreas Fault..."Bush's Fault" so no matter went the big one hits he get's the blame
Geraldo lost his street creds when he dared to say OJ was guilty and he's still trying to find them.
>>>He is analyzing the scene with his vast military experience<<<
His only military experience is fighting off ex-wives demanding increased alimony payments!!
Maybe Witt was the passenger and Weasley Clark was the pilot!!! LOL
BTW, I heard on PMSNBC that John Travolta is going down there tomorrow to "check things out"...
He owns a 747 I believe...and pilots it. Let's hope he is careful tomorrow with all of the aircraft up in the air trying to help out.
The entirety of the TV coverage of this disaster has "jumped the shark" today.
Right now, I'm watching Joe Scarborough on MSNBC speculating a helicopter was shot down and intoning, "This... is a city under siege." I flip to CNN and see Dr. Phil(!) pontificating on Larry King about psychological problems among evacuees. And over to Fox, where Geraldo is breaking down (what else is new?)
The media needs a new story. They've exhausted all their reserves of intelligence and competence for this one.
I think Geraldo needs a looooooong time at the spa after this is over. He and Shep can go together!
