Pa mom, Im really starting to feel foolish now! But Ill take it though, the response has been overwhelming. Now Im going to have to dig deeper! But will do so willingly.. : )

I admit I am much more wary of Qatari money than Kuwaiti money...as Qatar is the home of Al Jazeera and the Qataris have given money to terrorist organizations in the past to "buy security."

That's odd. The left claims that the entire muslim world hates the US. I'm very glad to see that we have friendship that scratch each others back. My faith in humanity just went up another notch.

Doubtless they remember what the Presidents Bush did, and wish to be appropriately thankful-- with an eye toward their potential future needs.

Don't know. Don't care. They are willing to step up to the plate and donate 500 million big ones.
Which is greatly needed and can be put to good use.

Well it seems we got them out of a bind a while ago, something they might still be thankfull for. Whatever the reason they gave, I am impressed.

Qatar was a key ally in the War, as was Kuwait. I'd like to see these countries also sidestep OPEC and pledge to produce more oil to make up for that which will be lost due to Katrina.

Thank you, Kuwait and Qatar! Proof positive that not all Muslims or Arabs hate us.
Hmm. . . By this standard, France should be ponying up ten times as much- they're bigger, and we liberated them from the Germans twice.

Thank you, Kuwait!
The Arab League said that its secretary-general, Amr Moussa, sent a cable of "deep condolences and regret to the U.S. administration over the effect of Hurricane Katrina ... and called on all Arab countries to extend aid to the United States to face the exceptional humane circumstances."
Nice words, but this guy is a total scumbag.

Another day there was somebody's FR post accusing the Kuwaitis of ingratitude. That post ought to be withdrawn and apologized for.
