"Doesn't seem like to helps much, but if each one of us talks to 1-2 people a day, everyday, and sets them straight and they talk to 1-2 people and convey that info, well, I think it's called a grass-roots effort.

Remember the movie, "Pay It Forward?" Let's just get busy."

I talked to MY two, yesterday. I went on a hike for an MD Fundraiser with a friend who has MD. (It took us 4 hours to go 6 miles, but he did it!) Two of the women walking with us were Bush-basing about Katrina, and I did EXACTLY as you did, explaining about how it was the State's responsibility to have evacuated all the people it could have, the parking lots FILLED with flooded, unused school buses, etc.

They, too, were amazed at this information, as everything they knew about the hurricane came from their daily spoon feedings by the MSM.

It does work, People! You may not convert hard leftists in your converstaions as they're too out of touch with reality to begin with, but just presenting people with the FACTS results in some pretty amazing conversations with the saner opposition. :)

Hi Diana in Wisconsin,
First of all, you have a very beautiful state. I grew up in Indiana and my parents took us all over the U.S. We went to a Christian camp on the lakes in the the eastern part of Wisconsin. I even ended up in Wisconsin once by mistake. I was driving to Skokie, IL and pretty soon I see cows all over the place. I stop and they tell me I'm in Wisconsin! How did that happen? Got lost. : )

Secondly, good for you with your friends. I was at my auto mechanic Friday morning getting my oil changed. I turned the t.v. onto Fox News. Three different groups of people came in. All three made derogatory comments about Bush. I just told the truth. The third one came in when George Bush was giving speech. He said, "We already know all that. Blah, blah, blah." I turned around and said, "Look, I like President Bush and think he's doing a great job. I just want you to know that before you continue." We ended up having a good conversation. I tell you, these people are ignorant -- like you said, most get only the MSM talking points and are spoon-fed that garbage. They don't research, they don't fact check.

I was at the first stops that the Caravan ("You Don't Speak For Me, Cindy") took in Vacaville and Sacramento. I met a fine, young soldier at the Sacramento stop (he was home on a 14-day leave) and while we were shouting down the anti-war, anti-Bush protesters on the other side of the street, I asked him what I could do for him while he was fighting for us over there. He said, "Just what you're doing right here."

Fighting the Enemy at home, while our Troops fight the Enemy abroad."
