I also remember my husband and I siphoning gas back and forth between our cars, depending upon who had how much and was really desperate and whether it was an odd or even day. Odd and even days. Gosh I remember that. Even though, I wasn't yet driving at the time. Yep, the siphoning, gas cap locks...dang, and we can't even blame Carter for it now can we? Oh wait, the NYSlimes, and the rest of the left are blaming Bush. ;) You're right. You stick around long enough, if you missed it the first time, you'll see it again.

One of Communism's heavy hitters ( Stalin or Lenin, can't recall which one ) once quipped:

"History repeats itself-- the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce."

Howlin is absolutely right- it's not so much a shortage as it is a self-fulfilling panic. It will settle down.

Here on the coast, we watched prices drop about 30 cents a gallon yesterday afternoon- that pipeline getting back on line, and Governor Purdue's moratorium on state taxes eased the situation up enough to help.

If you want to keep an eye on local gas prices in your area, type GPW in your favorite search engine to bring up Gas Price Watch. At first it is best to search for the best price in your area using your ZIP CODE with about a 3 - 5 mile radius, depending on where you live. I hope this GPW service can help save you some money. You can join up and be a a price spotter also.

Please take the time to read all the FAQ and HELP line for first time users. Please note there are supposedly no bothersome spam as a result of using said service. GLTA
