They might not be wrong in *this* case. The first presumption is that the ones who quit are slackers and irresponsible, but I have to wonder whether they might have actually quit because they couldn't stand to stay and watch the city government (the Mayor, and the police brass) screw the pooch so badly. How many quit with a resignation letter that said, "I'm not going to work for you corrupt f***-ups any longer?"

The feds should have been monitoring the underhanded practices of both those in law enforcement and the city/state government in NO/La. Time for some indictments and prosecutions to move forward, unhindered by the pitiful cries of racism from any racial group.

I don't know, but I expect that number to be high. I am appalled by the corruption that's been exposed, but I'm sick of seeing good cops blamed for the corruption of a few.
Come on. Corruption in the NOPD was pervasive. Nobody who worked there would not see it around them all the time. Not much separates our big-city PDs from PDs in Mexico.
