I guess, if true, that it would truly shock me.
One might think that shock is no longer possible, seeing the depths of bitterness, anger and hate the liberals have already stooped to, but somehow, this really made me sit up.
If this is true, they are losing their collective minds. And while I dislike the liberals and what their attitudes and policies mean to our country, having only one party is not a good thing.
Of course, one might say we have really only HAD one real American Democratic party since WWII, the Republicans. The other party was the communist/socialist/democrat party.
You are the best! Thank you! Once complete - can this timeline be sent to the MSM even if we know most of them will ignore it?
It's not my primary focus, of course. But there are plenty of people who are saying, 'let's concentrate on saving lives first.' Fine. Now lives are being saved. So it's just a matter of time before someone says, "All right, who's responsible for this mess?" And I think the answer is Rove. No one else was saying it. So I did.
As I said before, I don't think Rove is such a flippin' genius that someone couldn't step in his place and do as "good" a job. Again, look at the approval ratings. Look at the way the Demos are making noises about border security that the GOP doesn't dare. If you think not shoring up the levees was a source of MSM attack, can you imagine what would happen if a terrorist attack was tracked south of the border?
Think about it.
What a great job...thanks so much ;o)
Very, very well said, Zacs Mom. Somehow, some way, we have to work together to turn the tide against them. They are the scum of the earth.
Hi, Jonny. Coming from you, the thanks are most deeply appreciated and encouraging. As for the info, I deliberately added some of the key info to the thread rather than just link to it, because eventually some of it will disappear. This way we have a permanent record here at FR.
Please do all you can to pass the word along. Thanks.
Okay, I've thought about it. I've read your post twice, and this passage in particular several times:
So it's just a matter of time before someone says, "All right, who's responsible for this mess?" And I think the answer is Rove.
I'm scratching my head. I just don't know how Rove figures into this at all. Blanco, yes. Nagin, definitely. But Rove?
That's moonbat talk.
I don't know if it will ever be literally complete. I may try to update it and do a little tweaking and maybe repost it.
Been battling a cold all week so didn't quite do the fully professional job I'd like to have done on the timeline. But it makes the point.
As for sending it to the MSM, that can be done now. I'm appealing to all FReepers to spread this word as far and wide as they possibly can. That's the reason I did the timeline.
I'm sitting in Los Angeles, watching with my own two beady eyes Coast Guard and other service helicopters rescuing people from rooftops in New Orleans and elsewhere as soon as the hurricane passed out of the area on Monday afternoon. I notice the first news of the levee breaks around 11:30pm Pacific time on Monday night, while Shephard Smith and other reporters were partying in the French Quarter. CNN's Rick Sanchez is clueless when a hospital VP drops a bombshell in his lap about the levee breach.
It's only after daylight on Tuesday that the full extent of the damage is known. By Thursday, the first 500-bus convoy reaches the Superdome, loads up, turns around and brings people to safety in Houston.
And the MSM is trying to tell me that the response is slow and heads must roll. Well, if heads are going to roll, let's start with Shephard Smith, Rick Sanchez and all the other MSM jackasses who were clueless about the scope of this disaster from the get-go.
Morning, Wolfstar :)
And it's vital that we have it, too. All the second-guessing, finger-pointing and outright LIES flying out there needs to be combated with cold facts. This is a valuable resource and a noble effort. Again I thank you for doing it.
Well then you have highlighted yet another area where the Mayor did not follow his own plan.....
From the Times Picayune website
26,000 shelter at Superdome
About 26,000 New Orleans residents sought refuge from Hurricane Katrina at the Superdome, which authorities describe as the "shelter of last resort," Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu said late Sunday. To help keep them fed and hydrated, the Louisiana National Guard delivered three truckloads of water and seven truckloads of MREs short for "meals ready to eat." That's enough to supply 15,000 people for three days, according to Col. Jay Mayeaux, deputy director of the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Emergency Preparedness.
------
This is why the picture of the flooded buses is so damning.
Not having the levee break in the plan is perhaps the ultimate example of incompetence at the NO government level. We all know that that this was considered a danger.
My response was originally to refute someone who had said that the federal response was slow. In this latest post you seem to be agreeing with me that a poor plan was execrably executed by local leaders.
I did put satellite photos showing the hurricane's progression in post #1 of this thread. However, the detailed info you mention would be valuable. I don't know where to find it. Any suggestions?
Hi Emily. If we spread this information far and wide, the MSM would be pressured to acknowledge it. We've done it before with other stories. Dan Rather's phony documents about the President's Air National Guard service is one example.
Acting in concert, we "ordinary" people have far more power and ability than we may realize acting only as individuals.
I agree with you about the WH's poor public relations/communications team. That's been the one truly weak link in this administration literally since GWB was inaugurated January 20, 2000. However, not knowing how the PR team is set up in the WH, I don't know who to point a finger at. Rove is the President's top political advisor. There is a separate communications director. Currently that's Dan Bartlett.
Couldn't agree more. Just before Katrina made landfall, Shep Smith reported that the eye of the hurricane had moved "slightly east", so NOLA wouldn't have a "direct hit".
He said this matter-of-factly, like Katrina was no big deal anymore. But it was still a Class 5 or 4 hurricane, Shep!!! New Orleans was bound to suffer great damage, whether or not it had a "direct hit".
Hard to know the exact number at this stage. Thanks to the President twisting arms to get the mandatory evacuation, maybe half to two-thirds of the Gulf Coast area's population got out ahead of the storm.
Of those that remained, the Coast Guard alone has rescued thousands. The Navy, National Guard and other search-and-rescue teams have rescued thousands more.
Somewhere around 50,000 were pulled out of the Superdome and Convention Center complexes in New Orleans.
Today they are do a grid search in NO, and probably elsewhere in the region. There are people who still refuse to leave, but Chertoff says everyone must leave NO.
While the MSM, Dims and race hustlers have been busy with their disgusting blame game and whining, we have just witnessed the greatest, fastest search-and-rescue operation in history.
Wow, fantastic research! This is the stuff the lamestream media will not get off their a$$ and do or report on.
Sometimes I think one of the primary job requirements for being a report is that you only have two brain cells to rub together.
They have an agenda that has nothing to do with the well-being of the American people. Like the sewer rats they are, they thrive on sensationalism, hatred, division, strong negative emotions, anti-Americanism -- in other words, they thrive on the worst society has to offer. Never the best.
Great job! So it seems those complaining about slow response times are too slow to know otherwise. Isn't free speech wonderful?
