With the death of Rehnquist, only conservatives can lose. If Rehnquist were replaced by a liberal judge, we'd be doomed. If Rehnquist were replaced by a conservative judge, then things would stay the same. I wish someone else would have died instead of Rehnquist.
This is bad news to conservatives. I don't understand why liberals are terrified.

Like hell.
Replacing a conservative Justice with a younger constitutionalist judge, and establishing a constitutionalist for decades as Chief Justice, is NOT bad for Conservatives. I have no idea what your thought process is on that.

If he is replaced by a conservative, things will not stay the same. They will improve. Roberts is replacing O'Conner.

It appears that by Presidential directive, FEMA, under Mr. Chertoff, had primary responsibility for coordinating all disaster relief efforts effective August 26. Perhaps he was unaware of this. Everyone dies eventually. If Justice Rehnquist had not passed during Bush's presidency, he would surely have done so in the not too distant future. Possibly one with a DUmmie majority in the House, or even a DUmmie in the White House. Now that would have changed the makeup of the court, don't you agree?
