Nagin was in Baton Rouge, wasn't he? Guess a lot of the cops figured if the mayor's going to desert the sinking ship, why should they stick around.

A captain is the last to leave a stricken ship. For my money, he should have stayed in NO until he knew every person was safe. Now the sumb*tch is embarrassed.

No he wasn't, that was an urban myth. He and his skeleton emergency staff rode out the storm in the city.
