democrat, left wing poltical damage control on CNN?
CNN Transcripts ^ | 9/03/05 | CNN, Miles O'Brien, John Breax

Posted on 09/03/2005 11:23:55 AM PDT by Dane

M. O'BRIEN: Let me ask you this, though. Let's flip this around for a moment. This is kind of turning in, I'm seeing shreds of this on the web and on the blogs of this being the allegation is that Democrats are using this as a political issue. What to you say to that?

BREAUX: I've heard the racial implications. I would categorically reject that. Our good Mayor Ray Nagin is African- American and almost all the city council is African-American. The sheriff is African-American. The areas south of New Orleans, Plaquemine and St. Bernard Parishes are predominantly white and the rescue efforts down there were certainly no faster. If anything, they were slower down there.

Obama said he's going to hold congressional hearings on the racism involved in the response.

+ failure to dispatch = White Racism

They just had a picture on CNN of a guy who was wading through water almost to his chest. The corespondent says, "no telling how long this man has been wading in chest high water........"

But even I, saw immediately he was smoking a recently lit FRY cigarette! So apparently not long!!

The fact that you have to show your post to your family is pathetic! Yeah, save it to your favorites... and show your family. How old are you? 16? Please act your age.

I think we have heard this before.

"I don't see it, Obama said he's going to hold congressional hearings on the racism involved in the response.

Now the RINOs are going to get their teeth kicked in while the entire world is watching, and Obama will wipe the floor with the RINOs. "

Obama is popular because he was the sole voice of sanity at the Rat convention. If he pulls this stunt he becomes just another race hustler.

The fact is that race has nothing to do with this and all the incompetant fools were Rats. Obama is going to accomplish NOTHING.

I don't see it, Obama said he's going to hold congressional hearings on the racism involved in the response.

If the Democrats attempt to do that they will completely overplay their hand and even the brain-dead media will see through it. Anyone crying "racism" is in serious danger of overplaying their hand as we speak. The charge doesn't hold up to scrutiny and will simply divide this country at a time when we are facing an historic national tragedy. There are thousands of people of all colors lying dead in 3 states. Hundreds of thousands more homeless. An entire historic city abandoned and under water. We need to come together as a nation and tackle this problem while mourning together. Those who try to divide us and turn us to anger will not be looked upon kindly.

" ... You can personally attack me Mr. Mason, but I'm as conservative as they come and I'm standing by my claim, in a month when this comes to the Senate, there will be not one RINO standing up to Obama. If you think there is one, let me know who."

I believe you are as conservative as they come. I also feel for all we Conservatives, as we watch the mealy mouthed RHINO's waste, what appears to be, most of the eight years we have gotten to remedy what over fifty years of socialist leadership has wrought.

I guess what I am saying is try and stay steady in this fight. It is very difficult for all of us to see what is going on.

I wish us all good luck.

I kind of agree with you, wrath. The demonrats get most of the face time and support. Let's face it, there are still 59+ million moonbats out there

And you ray dude agree with the obamba's of the world. While there are more than plenty of African-American conservatives in the world who will not get a millisecond of MSM time.

Time for you all, IMO, to think of jumping off the buchanan/tancredo/jesse jackson/al sharpton train of racial diviseness and join the train of getting actual things done.

Yep, and Durbin made a total ass of himself with his Gitmo comments and then his religious test for John Roberts. How much have you seen of him on TV lately? Don't forget that he was forced to (sort of) apologize for his Gitmo remarks - not that long ago, he could have told us all to stuff it and gotten away with it. It's slow going, but we are making some progress in holding these clowns accountable.

This story is just too big, with too much blame to go around, to keep the really nasty stuff secret.

Millions of Americans watched on TV. They know who participated in the outrages and who ignored the outrages. And yes, it is obvious that race was a small part of this inexcusable event. Most important of all, this time there should not be a single human being who does not know or recognize that it isn't the "white folks" that should be held accountable for what happened in New Orleans. Skin color should not be an excuse for lawlessness. But in America since 1965, blacks have been playing the race card as justification for any kind of violence or lawlessness and getting away with it. The events in New Orleans should make it abundantly clear to people of reason that this can no longer be tolerated. Tolerance leads to escalation of the violence, and nine times out of ten, the black population are the victims of the violence.

White racism has not ended completely. But it is apparent to anyone that looks, the blacks are the source of most racism in America today and that part of ending racism in America requires ending violence, rioting and lawlessness in predominately black neighborhoods where blacks become the victims directly or indirectly. The duty of government and law enforcement officials is too maintain law and order to ensure public safety regardless of skin color or public sentiment. Violence cannot be justified on any basis. There are laws designed to punish prior crimes or abuse. Violence and outrage are not self defense no matter how anybody would try to color it otherwise.

I wish I could agree with you about senate hearings, but alas, I must side with wrathof59.

We've always seen the RINOs curl up sucking their thumbs when they're called racists. The left will slant this whatever way they want - to decimate the right.

It's already started. The Rat mayor of N.O. already ranting about the 'TRAGEDY OF MY BELOVED PEOPLES!" and cursing GWB.

Pubbies play by the rules and while we're looking in Roberts Rules of Order, the Rats start knife fights on the front steps of Congress. And of course, the willing MSM is always happy to cover the blood and gore. (pun intended)

How many rapes in St-Bernard Parish.

It is not about race, it is about the character of tax payers vs the character of tax recipients.

" the RATS will use this 24/7 for political gains, now that Obama said on local Chicago radio that he will demand Senate hearings on this, it will become a massacre of the RINOs in the Senate. If anyone on this board thinks Senate hearings on this will be skewed in favor of the GOP and will reveal the truth, they are sadly mistaken. "

You may be right. The RINOS like Hagel, Voinovich, Graham will cave. But I welcome the opportunity to expose Liberal incompetence at the local and state levels. Further, I'm not sure the public (besides the Air America audience/ Michael Moore is great crowd) is going to be comfortable with the Wellstoneing of this tragedy. Few things incense Conservatives more than the race pimping that has been going in the past couple of days. The more Al Sharpton/ Jesse Jackson speak up, the better it is for Conservatives.

Incidentally, I made the mistake of watching the Bill Maher show (with his 3 Lib guests and Stalinist audience) and it was naturally a Bush bash. Big nose Bill Maher had the nerve to suggest that if Jesus would come back today, he would be like a skinny Micahel Moore. A complete outrage. Liberals like this, whether entertainer, Senator, or race pimp must be challenged root and branch.
Bring on the hearings.

The spin on the corruption angle is that 'everyone knew LA had problems, NO, in particular. The feds knew, Bush knew, so he should have acted whether local black leaders wanted him to or not. The racism behind this argument is as thick as molasses in the morning. 'Blacks can't think for themselves. We have to do it for them, so Bush is to blame because blacks couldn't figure out how to get out of town.' Because blacks have been downtrodden so long by whites -- schools, housing, jobs, everything under the sun -- they were sitting ducks for Katrina. Blah, blah, blah. The fact that none of this makes sense won't bother Jesse or Al one bit.
