"Praying five times a day is a cornerstone of her Muslim faith."

So is prayer for Christians. Oh, wait, the overwhelmingly majority of Xians in the US are white. Never mind.

THERE IS NO DAMN WAY IN HELL WE ARE GOING TO BE FORCED TO ACCOMODATE MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS GET SHOVED INTO THE GUTTER .. NO WAY IN HELL!!!

My granddaughters are Christians and are not allowed to even take their Bibles to school .. but we have to allow another religion to pray .. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Suddenly .. the muslim supporters don't have any problem with NOT SUPPORTING THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.

I detest the hyper-secularism that stamps out school prayer. But even given that ridiculous rule, reasonable acommodations should be made for students to observe their faiths, and I think they usually are.

American Christians are harrassed by the public school administrators and the ACLU but Muslims get special treatment. Hmmmmm

If they want to pray to Mecca then they ought to go to Pakistan. Funny we can't even discuss Christian religion in the school but you are a Muslim you can.

"Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of our Lord Jesus Christ".

Christians are to pray continually, yet our worship is counted as nothing.

I have no problem with this little girl praying - we are founded on freedom of religion after all. However, Christians and Jews should also be allowed to pray, including "giving thanks".

If one of the pillars of Islam is praying 5 times a day, the major emphasis of Christianity is the personal relationship between Jesus and the individual.

This policy is discriminatory.

Why are you still here?

Let's do a mirror image. If she were a Christian in Saudi Arabia would she be allowed to practice her religion?

The 14-year-old was told she couldn't, and went home distraught that afternoon in October 2003. Praying five times a day is a cornerstone of her Muslim faith.

"If I wasn't allowed to pray my second prayer at school, I couldn't do it at home," she said. "When school finishes, the third prayer begins."

STFU and GTFO! They will bend over backwards to accommodate the Moon Worshippers but you can't have a generic prayer before a football game! Ugh! Anytime I see some hijab-wearing Mohammedan I get a bad reaction......

If you want a school that caters to your faith, go to one that is run by your denomination - it's really quite simple. And that goes for any faith.

"Her case was part of a nationwide grassroots effort by Muslim parents to make public schools more friendly and accommodating to Muslim students"

No, they should move back to the middle east. All American public schools refuse any form of religious acknowledgments...period. If there can't be any christian worshipping in public schools then there should be no muslim worshipping allowed in public schools. No acceptions for anyone.

People of all religions should be permitted a quiet time and place to pray during their school or working day, without interruption or harassment. This is a reasonable accommodation. During lunch or break at work, on the person's personal time.

"The teachers ate lunch and spoke to parents and students about Islam and how it intersects with the school day, particularly what it feels like to fast during the day while other children eat."

Aaaarrrrrr! I should have read the whole article before I made my first comment. Now I realize that this post needs a BARF ALERT.

Looks like real freedom of religion in action. So why can't Christians in that school have the same option? I wonder what would happend if some Christian students began requesting the same privelege.

Prayer back in school but only for Muslims?

Sickening. Why do these "people" insist on forcing their perverted agenda upon the American people? Revealing is the statement that their movement gained strength after Sept. 11. That was a great moral victory for these peaceful, loving and good Muslims.

Where are you undermining the American state today?

I guess we'll see now if the Left is really anti-religious or just anti-Christian.

Imagine how being Jewish when I was going to school and had to endure Christian holiday themes ... believe me, it's going to happen that Muslims will get their way in our schools ... the ACLU will see to it that it happens ....
