I don't understand why they are sending so many able bodied men and women out of the state, when there is so much work to be done. Put those who can to work to start cleaning up the mess created, not only in the street but at the refuge centers that were so overburdened. If there is food and water available to nourish them, there is absolutely no reason for them to be lounging away in Houston or any other city, while they complain about the lack of aid they received.

There is absolutly no reason for any of them to be not working. If they can't be clearing debris, then they can be working to serve those that are..

Offering them work to come back a good idea but after 5 days even the most able probably exhausted. I see a lot of children, elderly and sick. It's too soon, I think for clean up to start. Knowing our government though, probably only unions will be hired:'(. I don't believe in recovery grants either. No or low interest loans yes. I noticed on several occasions when people interviewed they make a point of talking about where they worked. Sad.
