There are other voices besides the LIBERAL politicans.

***......Handy, the school secretary, said the experience of being held hostage in the midst of the crisis was humiliating, and something she would never forget. "We never had to beg for our family," she said. "My husband has always provided for us. But this time, we had to beg. For food. For water."

Ashamed of community

While many are blaming city, state and federal leaders for the mess in New Orleans, the former hostages tend to be kinder - and more ashamed of what members of their community did.

In part, Willie Jenkins said, the suffering was a result of the pride and stubbornness of New Orleans citizens. Partly, he blames the neighborhood toughs who saw the storm as the chance to briefly seize power.

He hopes, he said, that people elsewhere in the United States recognize that most of those left homeless by Katrina are hard-working family people who happen to live in a poor neighborhood. They should not, he pointed out, be confused with the thugs.

"But," he added sadly, "I guess everybody is lumped together, the good and the bad."

Others tried to stay cheerful on the hot asphalt yesterday.

"We're dirty, we're hungry, nothing is going right for us," said Rebecca Doucette. Then she paused as she dug her brown plastic spoon into the sack containing her military ration and smiled. "But it will."....***

The decay in the big cities of America, as witnessed by New Orleans, is matched only by the decay of an already rotten Congressional Black Caucus.

Just amazes me. Bush is now a racist.

Remember the NAACP chain dragging campaign ad.

Oh, and don't forget, Bush is a Nazi too.

And a moron.

"I swear to God when I see a man act like that to a traumatized woman he doesn't even know, bells go off:
Sexual Predator!"

Let me take a wild guess that this cretin would never say such a thing about a real and proven sexual predator, one Bubba Klintoon. 'Cause Bubba was really compassionate and he really loved everybody, and he REALLY CARED, you conservative meanies!!! All evidence to the contrary, of course.

I wouldn't take that bet. Liberals only see problems in conservatives

"This girl lost her mom in the World Trade Center on 9-11."

Bush stopped and turned back.

"He changed from being the leader of the free world to being a father, a husband and a man," Faulkner said. "He looked right at her and said, 'How are you doing?' He reached out with his hand and pulled her into his chest."

Faulkner snapped one frame with his camera.

"I could hear her say, 'I'm OK,' " he said. "That's more emotion than she has shown in 21/2 years. Then he said, 'I can see you have a father who loves you very much.'

Watched President Bush consoling many of the huricane victims and he just seems to care for each and every one of them. His Christian Humanity comes accross loud and clear.

The Dems and the rest of the hate mongers come accross like the vermin they are. Seems like they are gratefull for the suffering blacks, as it gives them ammunition for their attacks against President Bush.

I noticed the dearth of AP photos of President Bush comforting the residents of New Orleans yesterday. It was especially galling to me because I watched him live on ABC. He was hugging everybody regardless of race. Seems to me that AP and Reuters have a secret political agenda. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

It's the entire NY based media. I said it on another thread, and I'll say it again here. The only reason this country was so together after 9-11 is because the New York City based media was too stunned to do what they are doing now, dividing the country when it's in crisis.

When these unbelievable crass people were worried about their lives, they kept their mouths shut. Now that it's another city who is suffering, they are out in full venom. These are a destructive, vicious people who hate this country and will do everything in their power to divide us. The only thing that matters to them is power. The media's behavior the past couple of days is revolting.

When it was their city that was on the line, they did everything possible to bring the country together, broadcast all the good and glorious things that were being done in order to make sure the country would open it's wallets to help New York. But now it's different, their lives are not at stake, so they attack, divide, do everything in their power to make this a political issure and damn the fact that people are risking their lives to save people while the media stabs them in the back.
