When they were deaf for so long to the projectile vomiting induced by their putrid writings, they shook the faith of all Americans in American ideals. They made us ashamed to call them journalists, they made us ashamed to call the New York Times a newspaper, and they made us ashamed to think that our society massively funds such vermin as Dowd-Rich-Krugman-Herbert. Here's a proposal for adding to the aid funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina: let the New York Times close its doors, fire its worthless 'journalists', sell off all its assets, and donate all the proceeds to worthy charities helping the victims of Katrina. That's by far the most valuable thing they can do for our country.

Ron Fournier of The Associated Press reported that the Army Corps of Engineers asked for $105 million for hurricane and flood programs in New Orleans last year. The White House carved it to about $40 million.

IN THE 2006 FY BUDGET!!! There's nothing any of that money could have done to help in the Katrina situation, because it hasn't even been allocated yet, much less spent!

It would be one thing if President Bush and his inner circle - Dick Cheney was vacationing in Wyoming; Condi Rice was shoe shopping at Ferragamo's on Fifth Avenue and attended "Spamalot" before bloggers chased her back to Washington; and Andy Card was off in Maine - lacked empathy but could get the job done.

Just because they (Dowd and company) keep up the mantra "a war on lies" doesn't make it true. The more and more they say it doesn't make it any more factual. She is flat out wrong on so many levels. Why let a little thing like being factual get in the way of a good story. What does 30% of the guard being in Iraq have anything to do with the hurricane. She doesn't answer that but throws the number out to sound smart--it MUST mean something.
