Everytime I see the pictures of those buses it infuriates me. Only God knows how much needless death and suffering could have been avoided if that mayor had used them. If justice exists... backhoe,words fail me...

You know I agree with you-- and what is horrid, "The Mare," and his cohort, the blank-minded Governor, will not only get off Scott-free ( they belong to favored minorities the Tired Old Media would never dare question closely ) they will probably stay in office.

The billions of dollars aimed at LA and NO will assure that their supporters have a keen and vested interest in keeping their partners in graft, corruption, bribes, & kickbacks in place, eager to dole out favors.

NO isn't destroyed like other areas it's just flooded.

After the water is pumped out 99% of the homes will be OK with a little work and Gov't money so why does everyone keep saying it's destroyed?

I grew up in the south and was raised to defend states rights and cast a jaundiced eye towards the federal government.

But when it comes to this mayor and governor,I'll gladly welcome federal prosecution of both of them.Take it completely out of the hands of Louisiana.

I don't know about Nagin. He let the tourists who stayed at the Hyatt (his headquarters) get first dibs on the buses to evacuate from the Superdome yesterday ahead of the residents of New Orleans who had waited for days and days. Tourists are white, residents are black. His actions fit into the conspiratist mindset, especially in the case of the light-skinned Nagin. Expect Nagin to be attacked as "acting white" or some such, and he will be opposed by someone "blacker than thou" (think Marion Barry type). Of course, Nagin can claim "the b*tch set me up" ...
