I'm not that amazed. When you consider that the only picture those of other nations have of us is what is portrayed by CNN or the NY Times. These folks probably felt that so long as the Dome was not filled with white, male rednecks they would be safe.

This explains a news report I heard earlier about 400 (?) tourists being evacuated first. They were allowed to "cut in line" and the impression was that they were given special treatment because they were probably "non-blacks".
It appears that some intelligent soul was concerned for their welfare due to the racism exposed by a number of the blacks --- that aspect was never reported, and never will be.
They reported just enough to give the race-baiters -- Sharkton and Jackasson an opening.

Apparently the only ones who didn't know the hurricane was heading to New Orleans were the people of New Orleans and four Brits in Miami.

Actually, I have wondered why more groups of people didn't do this. Cordon off their own areas, take turns watching for predators, join up with other families with children, etc. Maybe they did, and we'll hear about it in coming days.

So that makes this story more important than anyone else being attacked? Most of the violence is probably black-on-black. What exactly did these tourists expect after a hurricane? Fresh water? They should be happy to be alive.
