Air Force Football Coach Drops Pre-Game Prayer

Air Force coach Fisher DeBerry will reportedly forgo his customary team prayer before Saturday's game against Washington.
The Gazette of Colorado Springs reported that the team will observe a moment of silence in the locker room instead.
It's one of the first visible changes brought on by a new policy on public displays of religion.
The Air Force issued guidelines Monday that discourage public prayer at official functions and urge commanders to be sensitive about personal expressions of religious faith.
DeBerry has led pregame prayers in his previous 21 years as Air Force's coach.
Last year, academy officials told DeBerry to remove a banner from the locker room that said in part, "I am a Christian first and last ... I am a member of Team Jesus Christ."

I think I've posted on here several times on the P.C. anti-America anti-Constitution USAF boys. It explains AF colonels that deface personal property in parking lots because they insult his communist ideals.

is it too late to resign the appointment and apply to one of the other academies?

I suggest that individual players who wish to pray get together and pray...prominently.

Sad to say it's not just the AF academy...you should have heard the MEO briefing I had the other day...it's quite sad.

Please don't blame DeBerry for this. I live right next to the Academy, and he has always been a faithful voice in the community. Given the height/weight limitations for most students (we train pilots here, cockpits are only so big), what he accomplishes with his coaching and leadership year-in and year-out is nothing short of astonishing.
GeorgiaDawg, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better atmosphere for right-thinking people than Colorado Springs. Congratulations on your appointment, and we look forward to welcoming you!

To whom will they appeal in battle seeing they haven't sought guidance in life's more ordinary moments and their leadership forbids their appeal to the God of America?

The coach is a good man. My suspicion is that this ban will reaffirm his commitment to his faith, his country and his team. Guys like this don't just roll over.

You can't call Warrant Officers "chief" anymore and don't refer to soldiers as "warriors." It makes the Lefty "Generals" in the Pentagon wet their pants. They've become very PC.

Comin in on a wing and a prayer
What a show, what a fight
Boys, we really hit our target for tonight
How we sing as we limp through the air
Look below, theres our field over there
Though theres one motor gone
We can still carry on
Comin in on a wing and a prayer.
------------ Now that was when the Air Force was part of the Army. Now they won't even have a prayer. Brought to you by some chickenhawks.
