Karl, the Army Corps of Engineers is saying that those six guys killed were THEIRS! Contractors!
This is exactly what happens when there is no central command. Tragic, but very predictable. NOPD is not known for astute decision making to start with. Words fail me.
UPDATE per FOX via AP: The contractors were fired UPON. Soldiers killed 5 of the gun toting thugs and presumably wounded the other 3.
I was afraid it was going to be blue-on-blue casualties.
Just another example of how totally incompetent the NOPD is. Hell, the whole local and state government. NOPD must have wanted to show how tough they were after the last few days or some such BS.
