Depends on the disease. For the most part, the incubation period of most diseases is long enough that giving a vaccine at this point will probably abort it.

Also, remember that the vaccinations of the other kids (mandatory, remember?) are going to protect them. Nonetheless, school nurses in TX are being provided with training and the local public health officers will keep on top of this.

We're NOT Louisiana.

Are they routinely innoculating schoolkids for typhoid, typhus, and cholera, now?

I didn't get those shots until my inducdtion into the military, but that was many years ago.
