Oklahoma is taking in military families from Keesler AFB and other military facilities that are displaced. We don't have any facilities to house large numbers of folks or the resources.

Latest reports have about 10,000 evacuees scattered around Memphis area, and 2,000 inside the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis.

Lots of the folks who left before the storm also had relatives in North Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama, so people are scattered everywhere in the surrounding areas -- staying with family, friends, etc., and in the local shelters also.

Churches all throughout North MS, and Arkansas are providing shelters, food, supplies. Local firemen are setting up tables outside Wal-Marts to collect donations for Katrina.

Local news organizations have set up donation drop-offs for the public to bring supplies -- and truckloads are being filled with these supplies at this very minute.

So much is being done at the local level in MS, TN, Arkansas, Alabama and north Louisiana that is not being shown on national TV.
