Exactly and what I have been complaining about for several days. Why didn't they go get help for those people?

I've been thinking. We keep hearing people say, "I can't believe this is happening in America," and, "Where is the help?"

This is such a huge natural disaster, I think it is hard to believe this is happening here because we've never seen anything like it here before. I think as Americans we all feel "entitled" to some degree, because we are used to living relatively comfortable lives and because we are a wealthy nation.

I do think people are desperate and in great need. But take any of us out of our comfy homes with electricity and easy access to food, and we will all be pretty whiney. Destroy our homes and the lives we know and we will all be a bit hysterical.

I think things will continue to calm down as each day passes. This is a huge disaster that has taken many lives. And yet many lives have been saved. Those who are still alive will get over their initial shock and will hopefully come to realize they are blessed to be alive.
