Gov. Pataki of NY just presented Red Cross with a check for $2.5 million. Said he wanted to payback some of the goodwill that people gave to NY after 9/11.

I think her actions throughout this crisis prove she does not know what the word means, not surprising that her administration cannot spell. She is toast. Even the Dems in BR are bashing her.

Well I was just reading from a link to some Blog. These people actually believe it. It is a load of CRAP! The first rescue video I saw was the resuce of 4 black people from an attic.
Un substainable accusation at a time like this amount to treason IMHO. They are fanning Racisim big time. They are trying to create it so that Jackson and his buddies have something to do.

I swear that was staged.

Maybe, but at least he his pointing out a specific problem that needs to be addressed.

That's better than sitting in NY or Atlanta and endlessly pontificating about why Bush is to blame.

You all may laugh at him, but Geraldo is exactly what that crowd needs right now to keep them sane... they look at him as one of them because he knows how to talk to common people.... and is much less likely to get shot than Jeff Goldblat... if he can dramatize and get someone off the dime, then drama away...

I;m sure he is pissed off, too... as was Harrigan earlier today in the same spot, it stinks and there is dead bodies all over the place... and why did that babies mother pass out? The baby looked lethargic to me, too... so if he can get them help!!! Get IT!

A U.S. National Guardsmen wheels an elderly woman from the New Orleans Convention Center, September 2, 2005. After five days of surviving Hurricane Katrina, the searing heat, shootings and other unrest, thousands at the Convention Center were given food and water by the U.S. National Guard.

Careful, don't p-p, don't want no accidents. I wasn't sure either whether to have included sarcasm off tag or not. Not for queenkathy's sake, but for casual visitors to this zippy thread. Ya never know.

I just heard Aaron Neville sing a beautiful version of that Randy Newman song "Louisiana."

He said the Governor the first time, then he said the Government. Then he said "poor" people. Someone needs to shoot geraldo with some sedatives.

imagine what 9-11 would have been like, if Rudy and Pataki and everybody else - fled the city right after the attack, and just started doing TV and radio interviews asking "where are the feds"?

Frankly, I don't know why so many keep referring to the response to 9/11. It covered only a few blocks of a city. This disaster stretched from NO to Pensacola.

Well I do see one comparison, all the carping about why nothing was being done to the terrorists while the military took the time it needed to stage personnel and supplies. But when the military was in place, you saw quick and decisive results.

People tend to forget these kinds of facts.
